En novembre 1988, un local de pratique montréalais voit cinq jeunes punks unir leur rage pour jeter les bases de ce qui deviendra quelques mois plus tar GrimSkunk. Pionnier du rock alternatif au Québec, le groupe se distingue par une explosion punk-rock-métal, nuancée de quelques envolées progressives, psychédéliques, ska, reggae et musiques du monde. Avec plus de huit albums enregistrés au cours de sa carrière, dont son plus récent Unreason in the Age of Madness (2018), la formation compte plus de 2.000 spectacles à son actif, au Québec, mais aussi dans le reste du Canada, en Europe et jusqu’au Brésil et en Australie.

GrimSkunk Biography
GrimSkunk is a band from Quebec, Canada and plays heavy psychedelic crunching riff rock with tripped-out skunk music and angry grim lyrics. They were formed out of the ashes of Fatal Illness, an eighties Montreal hard-core band. Their main interest in playing together was to have fun and create their own label of music fuelled by their love of punk, rock, progressive and world music.
Wanting to encourage the independent music scene, GrimSkunk have started Indica Records, opened up Skunk recording studio and set up a concert network in which bands exchange concerts in their respective fan based strongholds in order to guarantee exposure and crowds.
In studio, GrimSkunk usually produce their records as if playing a live show. They've been known to produce albums in very little time. In fact their self titled 1994 album was recorded and mixed in only eight days.
