Armenian singer ARAKSYA AMIRKHANYAN & her FRIENDS bring an Armenian Ethno-Fusion Jazz experience to Catalina Jazz Club, Hollywood! Join us...LIVE! WED, JUNE 11th at 8:30PM. Dinner begins at 7:00PM. Araksya Amirkhanyan is a renowned Armenian folk and pop singer, vocal coach, and music educator. Her music blends traditional Armenian sounds with contemporary pop, creating a unique and soulful style. Known for songs like Qezanic Mas Chunim and Dun Im Musan Es, Araksya has become a prominent voice in preserving Armenian musical culture.She was also one of the soloists of the internationally acclaimed Kohar Symphonic Orchestra, performing on prestigious stages around the world. Araksya graduated from the Romanos Melikyan Music College and the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan.She is the founder of Pop Art Vocal Studio, where she mentors and trains aspiring vocalists. &friends is the musical concept and brainchild of San Diego raised, Dubai-based Sean Thomas. Drawing the breadth of his inspiration for these musical works from global cultures, Sean had a vision to create a project embodying tradition, culture, and community - culminating in the coining of &friends.
From New York to Miami, Marrakech, Madrid, Mexico City, Egypt, London, Lebanon, Dubai, Tulum, and beyond - &friends has delivered their message of community and connection to the stages of Coachella Music & Arts Festival, SXM Festival, and countless other venues around the world. 2023 saw all 5 global creators of the collective join Sean Thomas to share the stage in Egypt for a dynamic, one-of-a-kind live performance.
Garnering over 13 Million streams across their early Spotify catalog, &friends has already released on major marquee imprints, having had the project debut on record labels like Th3rd Brain, Armada, Tomorrowland Music, and MoBlack Records. This year has seen &friends officially remix superstar-level artists that include Sofi Tukker, Myke Towers, Bayanni, Ry X, Zerb, and more - in addition to continuing to release their original music via their in-house imprint Hidden Hands.
Since inception, &friends has received support from Pete Tong of BBC Radio 1, Black Coffee, Diplo, &ME, Rampa, Michael Bibi, Blond:ish, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano, and many more. Also catching the eye of media tastemakers, he’s made television appearances on LBC Lebanon, was on the cover of Mixmag Brazil, and earned attention from the likes of DJ Mag North America, GQ South Africa, MixMag Caribbean, DJ MAG Latin America, UPROXX, Beatportal, NPR, C-Heads, LA Weekly, Wonderland Magazine, Magnetic Magazine, When We Dip, Electronic Groove, EARMILK and more.
