Orchestra Mambo International

Orchestra Mambo International is a UK ensemble led by salsa DJ Lubi Jovanovic and salsa trombonist/composer Jonny Enright (Grupo X) who play classic salsa/mambo/cha cha inspired by Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, Celia Cruz, Ray Barretto, Willie Colon.

OMI is a meeting of the generations, blending the energy, talent and knowledge of young and experienced musicians from Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba, Spain, Congo/Argentina and the UK.

Debut vinyl 45 release, 'Mambo Te Llama' and follow-up 'Baila Mi Cha Cha' on ATA Records, supported by DJs across national BBC radio such as Cerys Matthews, Craig Charles, Gilles Peterson, Huey Morgan, as well as salsa and jazz DJs around the world, have established OMI's reputation for high quality, original Latin music.

In December 2024, OMI played an acclaimed live session of their original songs at the world-famous Maida Vale Studios in London for Cerys Matthews' BBC 6 Music Christmas Show - the highest rating show on the station, with 800,000 regular listeners.

OMI have performed their popular live sets, featuring vocalists Carlos 'Pachanga' Peña and Juanita Euka to packed out audiences at high-profile venues around the country, including 229, The Forge (London), Band on The Wall (Manchester), Piece Hall (Halifax), Brudenell Social Club, Howard Assembly Room (Leeds), Musicport (Whitby).
