Chris Jenkins Biography
Chris is a native of Greensboro, a city in the piedmont of North Carolina. At a very young age Chris was introduced to southern gospel music both at church and through his grandfather who was a member of a local quartet. He and his family would attend concerts with such groups as Gold City, Kingsmen, and Heaven Bound. From those early introductions, Chris was a fan of this great music, especially the high tenor part and knew he wanted to pursue this profession someday.
Chris studied voice in his teenage years, attending Stamps-Baxter School of Music in Nashville, TN and University of North Carolina at Greensboro. After his education, Chris spent six years in the banking industry, managing various branch locations. He now resides in Hendersonville, TN.
In 2012, Chris was hired as tenor vocalist for The Kingsmen. In just 4 years with the award-winning quartet, Chris was voted in the top 10 Tenor Vocalists of the Year and was a part of such #1 hits as "Battle Cry", "I Know", and the BMI award-winning and song of the year nominee, "Oh Yes I Am".
In 2022, Chris joined the celebrated ranks of one of the most awarded groups in Christian music history, Gold City.
