De Engelse gothicmetalband Paradise Lost, pioniers van de death-doom, bestaat inmiddels 37 jaar, maar heeft nog niets aan zeggingskracht ingeboet. Hun meest recente studioalbum Obsidian verscheen alweer vijf jaar geleden, sindsdien werden de fans nog wel verblijd met de liveplaat At The Mill (2021) en in 2023 met de opnieuw opgenomen, 30-jarige jubileumversie van Paradise Losts vierde album Icon. Maar er is goed nieuws: gitarist Aaron Aedy meldt dat dit najaar het zeventiende album verschijnt! Supports vanavond zijn Lacrimas Profundere (DE, gothicmetal) en Messa (IT, doommetal).

It was the third time I saw them live, they never disappoint. Alberto Piccolo's guitar is pure magic, as is Sara's voice. The setlist was good, but I would have preferred more songs from the second album. Make sure you attend one of their concerts, you won't regret it!

Messa emerged on the first day of 2014.
The extreme diversity of their musical background immediately proved to be essential in the construction of the band’s sound: Prog, Black Metal, Punk, Dark Ambient, jazz, Blues and Doom… all those influences have been channelled into a sonic cauldron that the band defines “Scarlet Doom”.
