About this concert
Presented by Mo's Desert Clubhouse, Death Valley Sessions is a four part series focusing on heavy styles, which provides paid performance opportunities to under-supported genres with the view to helping develop genre culture on traditionally under-utilised and attended nights of the week.  First up for the series we have Gold Coast ratbags HAMMERS appearing at Mo's for their 'Traps' Single Launch on Thursday 26 June with support from two of the best new guitar-driven shredders in the region, Happy Family and Cannabyss.Pummelling their rapidly expanding fanbase with riffs appears to be priority number one for Gold Coast locals Hammers, with the tradition continuing for a huge home-ground launch show.Fresh off touring New Zealand and Japan, the well loved five piece will be debuting their new single ‘Traps’ live, as well as performing new cuts from their soon to be released debut album for the first time ever.In contrast to the band's signature Aussie ‘tongue-in-cheek’ brand of Post Hardcore-meets-Alt Rock fury, ‘Traps’ hits with a twist, bleeding anthemic hooks and brooding melody from 'go-to-wo' with a firm pull on the hearstrings.Musically and lyrically, the song shows an authentic depth and range clearly present within the band. Who knew..?  ‘Traps’ is a total ear-worm. You're in for a treat!  Spread the word and get your ticket.Hammers ‘Traps’ out Friday 02 May 2025Series made possible by the State Government/Arts QLD's Growing Gigs Fund with help from Beats Cartel.Death Valley Sessions: HAMMERSMo's Desert ClubhouseThursday 26 June 2025$20+BF GA or $25 on the door // 18+7pm Warehouse Doors - Show Opens / Drink specials throughout the nightMo's is Burleigh Heads' most loved music venue, licensed bars, creative studios and cultural hub.The Warehouse & El Ranchero both boast epic bar menus, cocktails and craft beers. Visit El Ranchero for opening hours for pre - show drinks & eats.Mo's is a fully licensed venue, all guests are required to show ID on entry.

Hammers Biography

Forging unpredictable grooves, jagged riffs and tasty hooks, Northern Rivers rockers Hammers are Australia’s answer to the lovechild of Every Time I Die, He Is Legend and Alice In Chains. Comprising vocalist Leigh ‘Fish’ Dowling, guitarist and vocalist Lucas Stone, bassist Ricky T and drummer Ryan ‘Ruckus’ Lucas, the trademark Hammers brand gifts a rock’n’roll explosion for the ages, bringing together passion, technicality and an affable tongue-in-cheek swagger.

A grower and a shower, a lover and a fighter, Hammers are unapologetically flying the flag for true blue Australian rock’n’roll in a modern industry where fortune rarely seems to favour the bold. But, in true Hammers fashion, the quartet’s uncompromising wares have continually transcended any roadblocks in their way, striking an unforgettable balance between flippant fun and searing substance without sacrificing genuine craftsmanship. Equally in-demand onstage as they are for their diverse sonic smorgasbord, the brawny might of Hammers is only amplified further by the band’s boisterous musical flavours, Aussie spirit and authentic camaraderie.

As 2022 draws to a close and eyes turn to 2023 and putting the dreaded pandemic well and truly in the rearview mirror, Hammers continue to grab the musical bull by the horns with plans beyond their upcoming national tour including international shows and an online shop and merch expansion. And with more surprises still lying in wait from Hammers HQ, fans can certainly bet this lot will continue kicking goals in and around the heavy scene with their signature beautiful brutality and cheeky flair.
