Start of the season at the Elbphilharmonie! With a great line-up and a sublime programme, the Orchestre de Paris and Finnish conductor and composer Esa-Pekka Salonen invite you to a fantastic first concert of the season in the Grand Hall. Alongside two works by the titans of sound Richard Strauss and Jean Sibelius, Salonen presents his brand new horn concerto, which he wrote for Stefan Dohr, Principal Horn of the Berlin Philharmonic.

Esa-Pekka Salonen (born June 30, 1958 in Helsinki) is a prominent Finnish orchestral conductor and composer. He is currently chief conductor and music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the orchestra with which he made his US debut in 1984.
