Joe McCorriston Biography
Joe McCorriston is a songwriter and performer raised in Morecambe, now based in London, UK. A decorated musician with 15 years in the industry, he has built a cult-following touring around the globe playing his ‘pop songs for punk kids’.
He was born on July 26th 1994, but it wasn’t until 2005 he first picked up an electric guitar. At 11 years of age he was writing songs and fronting short lived high school band “Code of Conduct” with friends, merely as a hobbie through the struggle and stress of highschool. An acoustic guitar followed shortly after and so did an array of songs.
Joe recorded his first demo EP “One Day” in 2010, and released his first full length album “Try As You Might” in April 2012, which received a fanfare of positive reviews from various online media outlets.
Joe decided to tour the UK, and did so in April 2013 with his friend Heather Bradshaw, which was his first ever tour, and all booked by himself.
Over 20 more tours have taken place since, including a tour in late 2013 with folk hero Gaz Brookfield, which ended with a date at the sold out (450 capacity) Fleece in Bristol.
He has also toured and played gigs with many other well respected names such as The Blockheads, Ferocious Dog, The Heartbreaks, Keston Cobblers Club, The Crookes, Northcote, Ben Marwood, From The Jam, Brian Kennedy, Gemma Hayes, Chris T-T, Matt Pryor (The Get Up Kids) and many many more.
In August 2014, Joe played a show in support of Frank Turner in the town of Barnsley, UK, after being asked personally by Frank himself to open up the show. He then received a great live review in Kerrang! Magazine, referring back to the show.
Joe toured outside of the UK for the first time in May 2015, supporting German singer John Allen on a 10-date tour of Germany, which was a huge success, and has since inspired Joe to continue touring around Germany, around Europe, and beyond.
In 2024, Joe returned to form after a break with new singles ‘Liquid Remedy’, ‘Signs’, and 'Dear You'. After a short break from the touring circuit, and a recent show supporting indie tycoon Frank Turner, he is fit, ready, and raring to go with an avalanche of new songs and a bigger show in tow.
