Juanita

Juanita Euka, is a singer/songwriter and all-round performer. She began her dynamic career singing with latin band Malambo an Afro Peruvian fusion band and duet Tango Malambo with world class pianist Tim Sharp. Lead singer of the of Wara a Cuban fusion band based in London. Juanita has performed at various festivals and live events across London and the UK over the last 2years. Most notably at the Cimmaron festival in Brick Lane to an audience of 2,500. Juanita has a background in performing arts. She has studied, music, dance and drama, and performance since the age of 17. Attending various Arts Colleges, perfecting her craft with tutors such as Kevin Mark Trail and Jo Thomson. As the niece of an internationally-acclaimed music legend Franco Luambo, Juanita has always had a passion for making music, she thrives every opportunity to express her musical talent. Juanita's sound is a flamboyant and uplifting blend of contemporary, Latin ( cross over genres), hip-hop, soul, jazz, all brought together with her unique style and flair. Juanita spent her early days living in Buenos Aires amidst the expressive sounds of latin music, feelings which Juanita strives to capture in her own music. Juanita later moved in to London , where she spent her teen years and also developed an affinity of singing. Her influences are truly global, and Juanita actually sings in four different languages. Juanita's unique approach to music allows her to try many styles, and although she ticks all the boxes, you will find it almost impossible to box her in. A key element of Juanita's versatility is her ability to just "fit" into any piece of music. She becomes one with a song just like an instrument in a musical palette.
