Semantics Biography

Semantics comprises of the darkly fascinating idiosyncrasies of members Bridie Green (Guitar), Rob Lilley (Vocals and Guitar), Simon Lees (Drums) and Josh RB (Bass). Forming in late 2014, the quartet have been brooding their way round the second city’s live circuit and leaving an unshakeable impression on anyone fortunate enough to have caught their post-punk-perfection in all it’s unnerving, deadpan glory. Their debut EP was released in July of 2016, and was described as being an ''opaque, but inviting, listen, creating swathes of mystery'' (Counteract) and one that ''will shake those who seek ‘a different sound’ to their core'' (Quays News). Possessing a sound that “rings of tantalising broodiness” (The Indiependent) and “traverses the territory between heartfelt, fog-shrouded and moor-inflected mysterious and the uber-urban cutting edge” (Stereo Embers), the group will be showcasing material both new and newer throughout the UK for the remainder of the year. An alternative four piece hailing from the UK's second city.
