What exactly is German indie pop? Maybe it's completely different from what you might expect. Maybe it sounds like Anadolu rock, psychedelia, and Britpop; maybe it's multilingual; maybe people dance to it in Berlin, Paris and Istanbul; maybe it's raw and direct and dreamy and embraces the whole world. Maybe it sounds like ENGIN from Mannheim. Three guys who, in a way, have always known each other and weave influences from their biographies into a sound that feels immediate, that draws its listeners into its center and creates a shared space.
