Len Blake Biography
Len Blake is an emerging London-based, New Zealand-born artist. She is a talented songwriter who builds emotional worlds in her music, with a commitment to honest and relatable lyricism. Len makes gorgeous, intimate indie-soul music with jazz and RnB influences, that explores the moments between people, and the time we spend in our heads - think Olivia Dean crossed with Lizzy McAlpine. She treads the lines between genres, merging pop, indie, RnB and jazz with soulful vocals.
She quickly made waves in the New Zealand music scene after she independently released her debut EP ‘Honey Blood’ in 2021, and was signed to Universal Music NZ. Following a slew of New Zealand festival summer shows, she relocated to the UK as an independent artist, to immerse herself in the sounds that have inspired her music since the beginning. She hit the ground running and is now fully embedded in the London music scene, having since worked with a range of UK producers, including Jimmy Hogarth (Amy Winehouse, Corinne Bailey Rae), Jordan Rakei, Charlie J Perry (Jorja Smith), John Foyle (Sampha, FKA Twigs), and Maths Time Joy (Pip Millet, Mahalia). Her next single is produced by Tobie Tripp.
In 2023 Len released “Te Piringa”, which hit the New Zealand charts, and in 2024 released “Lost in Comfort”, co-written and produced by Jordan Rakei, which saw huge support from Spotify, featured on Fresh Finds Global, Fresh Finds UK & Fresh Finds NZ/Aus, as well as a feature in Rolling Stone NZ. Her second release of 2024, “Better Now” also saw massive DSP support across similar playlists, as well BBC Introducing and New Zealand National Radio.
Aside from being a wonderful musician, Len is passionate about fashion and sewing, and the way she dresses reflects the way her music feels. Len has a dedicated fanbase who follow her not only for her music but for her fashion content as well.
