De Canadese singer-songwriter Frazey Ford is de oprichtster van The Be Good Tanya’s, de americanaband die het goed doet bij tv-seriemakers (Weeds, Breaking Bad, The L Word). De drie dames hebben allemaal hun eigen soloprojecten, maar Frazey Ford, met haar unieke stemgeluid en souliconen Ann Peebles en Roberta Flack als grootste inspiratie, maakte het meest indruk met haar debuutplaat Obadiah. Het was echter opvolger Indian Ocean (2014) waarmee Ford echt internationaal doorbrak. De plaat, waarop countrysongs worden doordrenkt met zwoele, southern soul, werd door vrijwel alle beroepsluisteraars bekroond met vijf sterren. Haar laatste album stamt alweer uit 2020, maar nieuw werk is onderweg!
