Luna Zegers Biography
Singer / composer / lyricist / music producer / theatermaker Luna Zegers is worldwide the first and still only non-Spanish graduate in the history of flamenco singing at a Conservatorio Superior in Spain.
She graduated ‘with honours’ both in flamenco singing and in jazz singing, from the prestigious ESMUC conservatory in Barcelona and from the top notch Conservatory of Amsterdam.
After delving deeply into musical production for a couple of years now, she is preparing her next album.
NEW MUSICAL DIRECTION - NEW ALBUM COMING UP -> FLAMENCO-INFUSED SPANISH-LANGUAGE ELECTRO-POP SONGS !
'Truly a surprise: Luna Zegers, the best flamenco singer in our country, makes Traveller hit hard with her intense vocals. What a voice.' (OOR Music Magazine).
'On Luna Zegers' album Entre Dos Mundos, for which she wrote both lyrics and compositions, passion flows abundantly, sung with great lust for life. She clearly dominates all facets of flamenco singing, which splashes off in the last couple of tracks that constantly sizzle and strike with lightning.' (Jazzism).
'The fiery Spanish flamenco music combined with Luna's overwhelming singing offers a performance that is special in its kind.’ (newspaper Trouw).
‘In her compositions and performance Zegers is very convincing, simply beautiful. Wonderful music and a moving life story.’ (Ugenda).
‘The vocals of Dutch singer Luna Zegers are atypical for flamenco, but they do not lack the raw sadness that is characteristic of this music style. A thoroughly personal project with which she acquires a unique place in the music world.’ (We Are Public).
‘On her beautiful debut album Entre Dos Mundos she expresses her loss and sorrow in self-written lyrics and compositions, but she also expresses love, regained life force and hope. This Dutch "flamenca" does not have a typical flamenco voice, but impresses with her clear way of singing. From time to time she makes small trips to jazz and English is also the main language in a song. Flamenco to immerse yourself in.’ (Espanje Magazine, 4 of maximum 5 stars)
