The Deltas

Long before the descriptor ?Neo-Rockabilly? became a thing, The Deltas, from London, were spreading their own brand of high-energy entertainment. Not a straight rockabilly band, The Deltas infuse blues and country to create something that is wider and more nuanced. Having recorded their classic 'Boogie Disease' album at Pathway Studios in 1980, The Deltas quickly became a main attraction at clubs, TV dates and the big RnR weekenders. The exciting lineup was later enhanced with well-known ex-Polecat, Boz Boorer on guitar and they released their more diverse second album, 'Mad For It' followed by 'Tuffer Than Tuff'plus a series of singles, live EPs and essential compilations. The band?s new album ? recorded at Sun Studios, Memphis - is due out soon. But it is their unique blend of high-power rockabilly, blues and pure R'n?R that sustains The Deltas compelling live shows. Veterans of the touring circuit for the last 40 years, still with key original members Steve Bongo vocals and Captain Pat Marvel guitar, the band is completed with Kev Magee (Flying Saucers, Demented Are Go) on upright bass plus ex-Revillos Tenpole Tudor / Dave Vanian sticksman, Nicky Forbes drumming up a storm.
