Amanda Whiting

A virtuosic fusion of jazz, classical and hip hop, at times groove based, at times cinematic. Whiting's music transports the listener in thoroughly unexpected ways. Whiting is a classically trained musician has quickly carved her own unique sound, following on from the paths forged by Ashby and Coltrane. With 6 albums and part of the First Word label, she is pioneering the world of jazz harp. She has previously toured extensively with her own band (Aidan Thorne on bass and Jon Reynolds on drums), as well as with Matthew Halsall, Greg Foat, Rebecca Vasmant, DJ Yoda and Chip Wickham. With three solo albums on Jazzman Records, and a remix project with Scrimshire’s Albert’s Favourites imprint, she joined First Word Records in 2024. She will be showcasing music from her upcoming EP.
