The Slides Biography
There are two bands sharing this name:
1. The Slides is a Colombian rock/post-punk band, formed in Bogotá. Composed by Federico Nieto (guitar, "strangling cats"/vocals), Nestor Escobar (guitar, vocals, keyboards, bass guitar), and Annie Montoya (drums). The Slides formed around 2007 drawing the influence of post-punk artists such as Echo & the Bunnymen, Gang of Four and Bauhaus among others. In their own words, they try to find THEIR own sound not keeping in line with the "revivalist" cliché of other bands of the same genre and "We basically want to destroy the music scene around here and enjoy what we do, nuff' said." On December 2008, they released their first "EP" entitled It's Kind of Funny (Demo.)
