About this concert
We're delighted to welcome the Autumn Saints, the Americana-indie outfit who are described as “The Band meets The War On Drugs." Signed by Nick Stewart, who signed U2, The Long Ryders and Killing Joke, their latest release, the six-track 'Just Might Be Thunder' EP, is out now. The band got rave reviews from the posse of Sound Lounge regulars who saw them recently at Ramblin' Roots.
Lead singer/bass player Britt Strickland brings soulful Southern storytelling from his North Carolina home to the UK. He explores the tradition made famous by the likes of Dylan and Cash and it lives in the band's rich music: tales of hurricanes sweeping through the Appalachian Mountains and late-night encounters at lonely crossroads.
The British influence is also unmistakable. Jim Maving’s melodic and ethereal guitar floats and weaves through songs with atmospheric depth that British indie groups do so well. Martin Gallagher (drums) brings vibrant shuffling rhythms and the band's pulsing heartbeat, and Nick Bennett (Hammond organ/lapsteel/guitar/harmonies) adds bright-roots-flavour and new soul to the mix.
It's also great to say welcome back to the David Sinclair Four, whose third album 'Apropos Blues' won them so many new fans - as is their live performance of 'Life Gone Cold', recorded at the Sound Lounge and currently one of their most popular tracks on streaming services. The band is led by David Sinclair (vocals/guitar), also widely respected for his journalism, notably at The Times of London. David also performed with TV Smith’s Explorers and with London Zoo.
He's joined by Geoff Peel (vocals/guitar) who has played in numerous London, blues-circuit bands including The Diplomatics, Gentleman Tim & the Contenders and Julien D’Imperio. The DS4 also features Derek White (bass) and Steve Jessop (drums); the album was produced and mixed by Jack Sinclair. The ‘5th member of the 4’ is blues harp virtuoso Laurie Garman who has played with The Yardbirds, Lightnin’ Slim, Bob Marley and many others.

Band were excellant and the venue is to. I travelled 140 miles to see the Jenny and it was worth it. The lounge is a wonderful venue. Well laid out, good beer and great staff. I would be a regular if it was not so far away
