The Johnnys

It’s been a long time coming but it will be worth the wait: The Johnnys are re-emerging from a round of studio tinkerin’ and drinkin’ for a run of gigs in May, brandishing a live CD and a refreshed set. “Live In Lyon” is the album, and it captures a rollicking 1990 French gig by the Hoody, Billy, Slim and Spencer P Jones line-up on their only European tour. Restored from the original tape by Rick O’Neill, it’s brimming with plenty of Saucisson, Vin Rouge and bawdy cowpunk rock and roll. To mark the occasion, The Johnnys are playing a special late arvo Sydney launch show at Sydney Crowbar at Leichhardt with Van Ruin, Dave Favours & The Roadside Ashes on Sunday May 25 with Australian Beef Week Show and others playing in the public bar.
