FUZZRIPPER Biography
FUZZRIPPER is an American heavy metal band from Clarksville, TN known for combining heavy metal and 80’s style synth. Formed in 2017, the band is composed of vocalist and guitarist Dusty Mahan, guitarist Tommy Scott, bassist Dom Miller and drummer Joshua Porche. The band released their debut album, Nightstalker, on Halloween of 2017, which earned them an international fan base. Fuzzripper’s mascot is called “Jack” also known as “Jack the Ripper,” and is a reoccurring character featured on their album covers, merchandise, and live shows.
In April of 2025, the band is set to release Poltergeist, a concept album centered around classic paranormal film and TV favorites of primary lyricist Dusty Mahan. The band reached out Jeremiah Scott (Demon Hunter, Destroy Destroy Destroy) to mix and master the album at his studio The Southern Oracle.
During its early career, Fuzzripper was categorized as a traditional heavy metal band, with the group’s members citing bands including Metallica, Megadeth, KISS, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Ghost as influences. In more recent years, the group’s style is reminiscent of the same, but with a modern production approach. Fuzzripper plans to book more regional shows in 2025 in support of the new album, Poltergeist.
