About this concert
Sunday, May 11th- Live at DNA Lounge: Actors! With Special Guests: Ashes Fallen Holy Water and DJ Starr Noir Advance Tix, $22/$28 Doors 8PM - ALL AGES! Vancouver's brilliant post-punk and new-wave quartet Actors music displays their flair for sonic cinematics. Their songs have been described as addictively dancey, infectious and uplifting yet melancholy. Actors embraces their 80's influences with a reverence that shapes their compositions into beautiful dark pop masterpieces. Ashes Fallen express themselves with long, dynamic songs, musicality and depth that highlight their more-is-more arrangements. A range of sounds, tempos, and moods. Meaning and substance. All the things you're not supposed to do in the streaming era. Northern California Gothic rock band Ashes Fallen wear their bruised but still beating hearts on their sleeves. Their sound is heavier than when they first formed in 2019 but is still inspired by the gothic rock and post-punk of the past while remaining unquestionably contemporary and relevant in 2023.

Ashes Fallen Biography
Gothic rock band Ashes Fallen started in March 2019 in Sacramento, California, USA. “I can’t believe we’ve been doing this for five years!” says James Perry. “We decided to celebrate our journey with something special.” “V” features three tracks, each offering a substantial reinvention of songs from Ashes Fallen’s back catalogue, with one from each of Ashes Fallen’s three full-length albums. James remarked, “think of these as ‘what-ifs’ - what if we’d taken Ashes Fallen in a different musical direction along the way?” “We Belong Nowhere (Diaspora Mix)” is a synth-focused reinterpretation of the track from 2021’s “A Fleeting Melody out of a Fading Dream”, imploring us not to look away as the homeless and refugees continue to suffer around the world. “Unrequited (Come Undone Mix)” offers an extended, saxophone-drenched take on the tale of a love that can never be from Ashes Fallen’s self-titled 2019 debut. “Damn Me (Ninth Circle Mix)”, slams the already raging track from their most recent album “Walk Through Fire” to new depths of fury and spite.
With “V”, Ashes Fallen continue their legacy of supporting causes they believe in. 100% of Bandcamp sales of “V” will be donated to Doctors Without Borders to support their ongoing humanitarian medical care mission around the world.
Prior to “V”, Ashes Fallen has released three full-length albums, six singles, and three music videos, along with dozens of in-person and online live shows. Their most recent album “Walk Through Fire” received critical acclaim, with the lead single “Damn Me” reaching #2 on the Deutsche Alternative Charts, and the album reaching #5. They’ve performed with acts including Kælan Mikla, Children On Stun, ACTORS, Creux Lies, Aurelio Voltaire, Astari Nite, Nox Novacula, Dead Leaf Echo, and Altar De Fey, and have been booked to perform at major US dark music events including San Francisco’s World Goth Day Festival, New York City’s A Murder Of Crows, and Salt Lake City’s Dark Arts Festival.
