Toye’s vision and project mission: to assemble some of the funkiest world-class musicians into a sonic musical gumbo, drawing from musical epicenters including New Orleans, Nashville, Austin and beyond.

"During the last Jazz Fest, I had the privilege to connect with Jerry “JBlakk” Henderson, who is an amazing New Orleans bassist in Big Sam’s Funky Nation. Together we quickly came up with several song ideas and this is our first tune taken to completion,” says Leon Toye, “Hoping Ben Ellman would eventually play sax on it, we wrote the tune in the horn-friendly key of B flat. Ben is a busy guy but was cool enough to record on it. Sending him a bottle of nice Japanese whiskey called ‘Nikka From The Barrel’ seemed to help. It also provided an idea for a song title…"
