Vandalia is a modern alternative rock band born from the close bond of two sets of brothers—Nevin and Owen Moore, and Max and Jack Bland—who grew up just blocks away from each other in Charleston, WV. With a sound deeply rooted in 90s alt-rock, Vandalia draws inspiration from legends like Oasis, and obscure shoegaze groups like Slowdive, along with popular American rock bands like Third Eye Blind. Their songs blend cosmic wonder with melodic hooks with earthy rhythms with raw and introspective lyrics.

Formed at West Virginia University, the band aims to create music that sparks self-awareness, reflection, and emotional connection. Their songs serve as a mental escape, offering listeners a chance to break free from the noise of everyday life and find peace in the small, meaningful moments. The name Vandalia is an ode to what could've been a 14th colony and what is now WV.
