Headliners the Las Adelitas quartet are a brilliant all-female Mariachi band, with support from Nathan & Jessie bringing their unique blend of jazzy folk and blues all the way from the foothills of Southern California! Mariachi Las Adelitas are the UK's only female Mariachi band, born out of the desire to shatter stereotypes within this traditionally male-dominated genre. They are favourites of Cerys Matthews (BBC Radio6/ Radio4), who interviewed them twice on the UK's most popular radio show, and premiered their versions of Back to Black (Huapango), El Toro Relajo in 2021 and Viva Mexico in 2022. They played at Women's Mariachi Festival in L.A, California in 2018 where they also played live on both Univision and Telemundo TV channels. They also count Salma Hayek amongst their fans, and played for her private birthday celebration in London. Hold onto your hats! In support, born of the individuals, Nathan Rivera and Jessie Andra Smith, Nathan & Jessie's performances include not only original music, but stories of their travels and audience interaction, making for an unforgettable experience. Their love of sharing music has taken them from Mexico to Canada, France to New Orleans and the Pacific North West. The upbeat tunes they write reflect the cultural, emotional, and inspirational images of their life experience, are rooted in the spirit of jazz, improvisation, storytelling, language and humour.
