Chicago rockers AMRITA have been catching the attention of music listeners in the area for over seven years. With influences spanning musical territory ranging from The Mars Volta and Radiohead to Phish and Jamiroquai, each of AMRITA's members exert their own sonic precision and expressive identity, creating their unique sound. That sound begins with guitarist/vocalist Patrick Riley. His expression-first style and tone is rooted in classic rock and blues but keeps listeners guessing with jagged riffs and syncopations. The most recent addition to the group, Nathaniel Lutes, brings a wide array of textures on guitar ranging from soulful and jazzy to shreddy that provide the perfect supplement to Riley's style. The synchronized powerhouse rhythm section that is Matt Robinson on bass and Mike Del Principe on drums completes the entire package and gives the band's performances a pulse that keeps crowds dancing all night. The band’s emphasis on balancing structured composition with improvisation and onstage interaction is evidence of their promise to provide a great live performance.
