MMM

mmm (pronounced me-my-mo) is the solo alias of Tokyo-based singer-songwriter Moe Ishii. She spent her early years in Singapore and California before returning to Tokyo in 2005, where she has been building her musical career since 2006. Bilingual in Japanese and English, she moves naturally between the rhythms of both languages, shaping songs that feel effortless in either. Often compared to artists like Cat Power and Feist, her sound is both delicate and resolute. Fresh off the release of an EP with her band Taro, she is now preparing to release her solo album from Tokyo label Sweet Dreams Press.
