Snake Mountain Biography
Originally conceived as a side project for frontman Nev Pearce of Shifting The Paradigm, SNAKE MOUNTAIN emerged as a creative outlet inspired by 80s and 90s cartoons, action films, and the darker facets of pop culture. Since its inception in 2015, the band has undergone various stylistic evolutions, ultimately establishing a blistering, high-energy brand of Melodic Technical Death Metal by 2022.
Embracing their new heavier musical direction in early 2023 with the release of the single ‘Veins’, which was again followed up in 2024 with the bands first EP ‘Villainous 1: Reverence’ including the single and video for the the crushingly heavy track ’Everliving’. The Villainous 1: Reverence EP was also celebrated with a very successful dedicated EP launch show at The Boiler Room (Yatala) and tour.
The EP was quickly followed by the standalone single "The Revenant," which earned national and international airplay, giving listeners a glimpse of the band's upcoming musical evolution.
The band closed out the year with a set on the Garage Stage at Brisbane’s GOOD THINGS FESTIVAL, and launched into 2025 with a bang—opening for Alestorm and Nekrogoblikon at their SOLD OUT Tivoli show.
With new music slated for release later in 2025 and a tour in the works, Snake Mountain is showing no signs of slowing down.
