Inaya Day Biography
Named one of Billboard’s Greatest of All Time Top Dance Club Artists, INAYA DAY has been in dance music for over 25 years! She's had numerous UK /
Euro, Aria, and Billboard top tens and is still going strong!
I’m "HORNY", "HOLD YOUR HEAD UP HIGH", "NASTY GIRL", "KEEP PUSHIN", “I AM THA 1”, “STAND BY ME”, “GLAMOROUS LIFE”, “MOVIN UP” and much much more... all recorded by the one and only, INAYA DAY !
Just before the end of it’s run, INAYA was the ONLY artist in history to perform twice in one week on the famed UK top 40 TV show, TOP OF THE POPS. So, we can certainly say she’s made music history.
She’s performed in places like New York’s legendary Carnegie Hall, The Apollo, Montreux Jazz Fest, Sydney’s City Recital Hall and Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena in Australia, to name a few... and has shared stages with The Prodigy, Ashford & Simpson, Freddy Jackson, Cheryl Pepsii Riley, Robin S., Crystal Waters, Ultra Nate’, Shirley Caesar, Donny McClurkin, Yolanda Adams, Kurt Carr, Richard Smallwood, Bootsie Collins, MC Lyte, and many more.
Besides writing for herself, INAYA has written with and/or for , Tichina Arnold, Bootsy Collins, Randy Crawford, Missy Elliot, Timbaland & Magoo, Ultra Nate’, Robin S., Duane Harden, Peyton, Frenchie Davis, and many others.
In addition to house music, INAYA writes, records, and performs gospel, musical theater, jazz, commercial jingles ( OPRAH WINFREY SHOW “I’M EVERY WOMAN” theme song with Valerie Simpson 1993-4, CHIEMSEE, DISCOVER CARD, COCA COLA etc), hip-hop (QUEEN LATIFAH, MC LYTE, MISSY ELLIOT, SEAN PUFFY COMBS, etc), and R&B.
Seeking to gain more control over the fate of her music, Inaya started her own record label , Ny-O-Dae Music, in 2010.
Inaya forayed into film when she acted and sang in a movie called, "WHO SHOT PAT?" starring SANDRA BULLOCK.
Who knew that this Brooklyn-born, card-carrying member of the Actor's Equity Association, groomed in church and musical theater, would become one of the most prolific writers and frequently heard voices on the universe's dance floors.
