Hope Flood Biography
Hope Flood is one of the fastest rising “Keeping It Real” female comedians on the URBAN Comedy Circuit today. Her appeal is universal due to the everyday life experiences she speaks about on stage; whether it’s relationships, love lust, motherhood, or just surviving the “New Millennium.”
Flood’s thought provoking general and funny commentary keeps audiences on the edge of their seats thirsting for more.
A Comedy Veteran, Single Mother, Comedian, Actor, Philanthropist, Convention Show Runner, Publisher (of the very first Nationally distributed Comedy Magazine called “COMEDY THE MAGAZINE”), back in the day, way before blogs and twitter, and more recently On-Air Radio and Television Personality, Live Streamer, and Comedy Booker.
Hope has been in the business for over, ahem, 20 years, and has produced weekly showcases that helped launch the careers of many successful comedians from Jamie Foxx to Chris Tucker. She’s also been featured in the bestselling comedy book and album entitled “SNAPS,” and has headlined some of the most well-known comedy clubs in the world.
A semi-finalist in the “OLD ENGLISH 800 WOMEN’S COMEDY CRUNCH,” and a two time semi-finalist in the “BAY AREA BLACK COMEDY COMPETITION,” Hope’s accomplishments of this multi-talented artist just seem to pile up so high, it’s hard to even see the top of this pseudo Hollywood bullshit.
If you read that, I appreciate it. You’re an awesome reader. Lol
Hope’s talent has taken her on a European Comedy Tour, a few times to the Virgin Islands, The Bahamas, Jamaica and has made even Alaska roar with laughter faster than Sarah Palin can say boom.
After decades of being on the road, Hope is back home in her home town of Los Angeles and has left Dallas Texas where she is a well-known Comedy Radio DJ as she was handpicked by BJ Murphy (the top morning show DJ in Charlotte North Carolina to host as a sidekick on his show called BJ in the Morning. (I kid you not). The show aired on 105.7 on KRNB. Hope took the cities by storm with her “Out of the Box” mentality and of course, hilarious jokes, and her very unconventional views, and the ratings flew from a .09 to a 2.4 in less than two years.
Comedian Hope Flood has appeared on the “RUSSELL SIMMONS, HBO ALL STAR DEF COMEDY JAM,” Hope was on Ten Seasons of “BET’s COMICVIEW,” where Hope won her own one hour “Grandstand Comedy Jam Special.” Hope was later chosen as one of “BET’s” 39 most favorite comics. “COMEDY CENTRAL’S COMIC GROOVE” hosted by Tracy Morgan, the country picked for the 2009 season of “MARTIN LAWRENCE PRESENTS: THE 1ST AMMENDMENT STAND-UP” on the STARZ cable network channel hosted by Doug Williams.
Hope is no stranger to the stage or the big screen having performed in the NAACP Award nominated play “CULTURE SHOCK,” the “KEN SAGOES & FRIENDS VARIETY SHOW,” and John Singleton’s “BABY BOY” just to name a few.
Hope is a rising star, even after all of these years. Hope Flood is very influential in the URBAN COMEDY scene as she has donated years to philanthropy to benefit young African American girls to with school materials and backpacks in a non-profit Hope Runs called “A NICKEL OF HOPE, INC.” Hope features “HOPE GIRLZ CLUB” an after-school mentoring program for at-risk girls of the inner cities.
