Composé des frères Dana et Alden McWayne, originaires d'Eugene, Oregon, le groupe est reconnu pour sa fusion unique de jazz et de sons indie, inspirée par leur éducation peu conventionnelle. Dana, saxophoniste et inspecteur de fermes biologiques en Caroline du Nord, et Alden, batteur et diplômé du Berklee College of Music, ont su capter l'attention d'un large public grâce à leurs reprises créatives de morceaux de hip-hop sur TikTok, notamment sous le pseudonyme. Après le succès de leur premier album, Quiet Music for Young People, sorti en août 2023, le duo a enchaîné avec Coyote, You're My Star en juin 2024, un album acclamé pour son approche novatrice du jazz traditionnel. Leur popularité grandissante les a conduits à se produire dans divers festivals et salles prestigieuses à travers le monde. Leur concert au PopUp! s'inscrit dans une tournée européenne qui les mènera également à Londres, Cologne et Rotterdam. Dana and Alden Biography
Brothers Dana and Alden McWayne, along with a troupe of multi-instrumental artists, come together to create jazzy melodies with indie sounds inspired by their unconventional upbringing in Eugene, Oregon.
Their debut album, Quiet Music for Young People, is a lush album that melds vintage sounds with the aesthetic and experience of existing in gen Z and the digital age. Quiet Music For Young People also reminisces of their childhood, summer days spent working at an apple orchard and jamming at jazz clubs on rainy Oregon nights.
Alden, the younger of the two, is a drummer and recent graduate of Berklee College of Music, while Dana, the elder statesmen, is a saxophonist and organic farm inspector in Durham, NC.
