Shingo Suzuki Biography
Shingo Suzuki is a bassist, keyboardist, and producer who is recognized around the world for his exceptional musical skills and unique sampling sense, with HIP-HOP, JAZZ, and SOUL as his main focus and sources of inspiration.
His work "Night Lights" has gained attention among Lo-Fi HIP-HOP fans worldwide and has recorded over 3 million streaming plays. He has also supported various artists internationally as a producer and bassist, including BTS, Wouter Hamel, 20syl (Hocus Pocus), Akiko Yano, Chara, Original Love, Tabito Nanao, and Hanaregumi. Furthermore, he has worked on numerous commercials, jingles, dramas and movie soundtracks.
In 2024, a group of artists who resonate with Shingo Suzuki's music have gathered to form a solo project called “L.Y.P.S. (Liquid Yellow Portraits),” which express their music with unconventional sound-making based on jazz and soul. L.Y.P.S is a solo project that expresses the music of 5lack (Rap), KOJOE (Rap), Masato Mori (Drums), FUYU (Drums), Shota Watanabe (Piano.), Meliya Terakubo (Trumpet), Ol'K (Poetry Reading), Ruri Matsumura (Vocal) and Nenashi (Vocal). In October, they released an album as L.Y.P.S. and held their first live concert at the Japan's leading traditional jazz live music venue Cotton Club.
The group has emerged like a comet in the Tokyo alternative jazz scene.
To add to his ever growing portfolio, Suzuki performs as a band member with mabanua and Shingo Sekiguchi in Ovall, as well as appearing at large domestic festivals and actively conducting overseas tours.
