About this concert

Rumpistol Biography
"Rum" is a Danish word for "space", "room" or "reverb".
With live piano, violin, harp, drums and mesmeric vocals, the Rumpistol create an intimate yet cinematic sound, sitting in a beautiful space somewhere between ambient, jazz and neo-classical music.
After having suffered from a severe stress-related burn-out, Danish composer Rumpistol had to completely alter the way he works.
Looking at computer screens gave him headaches and nausea, and so he was forced to work in a completely new manner.
Rumpistol started composing for the piano and sought out a team of skilled instrumentalists to feature on his new music, resulting in a whole trilogy of albums: After the Flood (2020), Isola (2022) and finally Going Inside (2023).
As the title reveals, Going Inside dives deeper into the existential depths of the mind, and it is made specifically for psychedelic therapy, using the expertise from trained specialists at the Neurobiological Research Unit in Copenhagen.
By working with his own fragility in a more organic expression, Rumpistol's music is resonating with people dealing with difficult crises such as grief, anxiety, stress and depression.
Rumpistol has performed his detailed sound across the US, Europe, Mexico & Brazil including venues like Boom Festival, OZORA, Tipper & Friends, Boiler Room UK and MUTEK Montreal.
