Nadeah Biography
Starting out as a Parisian street busker at age 18, Australian born songstress Nadéah Miranda has built quite a name for herself on the European music scene, best known for her spontaneous stage shows and eclectic repertoire. After a chance meeting with guitarist Art Menuteau while busking outside a Paris cafe, the pair immediately starting writing together and moved to the UK where she became the punk guitar-wielding front-woman with alt rock UK group, the loveGods.
They built a strong and loyal fanbase which resulted in them winning Radio One’s best unsigned band as well as playing Glastonbury twice before Nadeah was forced to return to Paris (she was officially kicked out of the UK for two years). She then fronted 'French Touch’ collectives, Nouvelle Vague, touring with them for three years and performing at UK’s Glastonbury Festival again as well as Henry Fonda Theatre (Los Angeles) and London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall before going solo.
Renowned for her irreverence for genre and mesmerising stage presence, the Australian songstress has supported artists as diverse as Tame Impala, Nick Cave, Franz Ferdinand, Mick Jones (The Clash), The Do, Damian Rice and James and has worked with various producers including Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey, Bat for Lashes ), Marc Collin (Nouvelle Vague) and Grammy award winning classical composer Nicola Tescari.
“I like all kinds of music - hip, hop, country, folk, psychedelic rock, electro, classical. I don’t see why artists should have to limit themselves to playing one style. We are the playlist-making, Spotify-wielding shuffle generation and that’s a good thing. I’d get bored if I had to play 20 versions of pretty much the same song every night. Maybe it's less marketable but it’s a lot more fun and freedom is what music is about.”
Nadeah's most recent single Où Es Tu? is out 29 May 2020 on Kwaidan records under the name Nadeah and Beki.
She currently lives between Paris, France and Melbourne, Australia.
