La Luz

The band sounded fantastic. I had 2 issues/frustrations though. 1st was that the show started at 9pm on a Sunday. (I’m getting old) 2nd is that the show was advertised with no opener & I bought tickets under the assumption the band would come on at 9pm. There was an opener and La Luz didn’t perform until after 10pm. I ended up leaving about halfway through the show unfortunately. I hope to see the band again soon because they were great!

La Luz sounded incredible and Johnny Brenda’s is one of the best venues to see artists in. You’re right next to the stage and the sound is fantastic.

Awesome energy, and a REALLY great set! Everyone had a super fun time, and the band was so lively! Also, there are just some moments they create when playing some of their hits and it's just special to see! Luzers for Life!

The opening band JayWood was a fantastic surprise. I'm like most people and didn't expect much from an opener but those guys were AMAZING and now I'm a big fan. And La Luz was great as well. Really great show

Good to see the band in top form, still playing and making excellent new music even in these times for touring bands. I've watched them play since 2014, the second time at the Regent better than the last time.

AMAZING. Great choice of an opening act. All the songs sound even BETTER in person which I didn’t think was possible. I met some of the girls before the show and they were so sweet. I had a great time.

Wish the mics were on louder so I could hear their beautiful voices more clearly! Otherwise, an amazing show

Love them. A bit more mellow tunes than when I saw them at Underground Arts twice. I also liked the opener, Ghost Funk Orchestra. Wishing Shana Cleveland of La Luz a full recovery.

Shannon (minus The Clams) was an amazing opener. La Luz was awesome! I loved the worm competition. Topaz Farm is truly a magical place. Would love to have both of them back at the same venue.

A surf doo-wop delight of a show, the band made their Ventura debut with achingly delicious harmonies and Shana Cleveland's signature reverberated shredding.

Great small venue and another top drawer performance by the band. Very tight, lots of energy and Shani is six month’s pregnant. Only downside was the 11:45 pm start time for this Geezer

Can’t wait to see their show in Amsterdam, was bartending their crowd for their last event in San Diego

A great show from a fantastic band - great on stage chemistry and excellent musicianship too.

The best show of 2018 for me so far. This was a three-piece show, Alice was back home in WA after the death of her father. The trio paid tribute to the late Mr. Sandahl during the show with a toast and a photo. The set featured a good mix of new songs from “Floating Features” and the “classic” tunes that put this band on my radar. Amazing musicians and it’s a joke that I paid $8 for the ticket. I would have paid 5 times that amount to see this band again. I felt so bad I purchased some extra merch to try and ease my guilty conscience.

Love loved the show! Band was in top form! Can’t wait to see them again in June!

La Luz was fantastic! However the opening bands were NOT a fit for the style of music. Hardcore, screaming punk is not who I would have paired with the smooth melodramatic music of La Luz. The amount of bands before them was off putting as well. The concert started at 10 and La Luz wasn't on stage until 1 o'clock.

excellent performance from everyone! la Luz in particular put on a great show, complete with a conga line and the keyboardist crowdsurfing literally around the bar. definitely looking forward to having them visit San Diego again <3

I adore these ladies. Surf rock is one of my guilty pleasures, and this band leaves me very satisfied!!!
