Gavin Matts Biography
Originally from Vancouver BC, Gavin Matts now lives in New York. He was the winner of Canada’s Top Comic in 2017, A TBS Comic to Watch in 2018 and he made his late night television debut on CONAN in 2019. This led to multiple appearances on Comedy Central’s show Stand Up Featuring, and one on the television showcasing up and coming stand ups, The Ringers.
Recently, Gavin’s debut hour long special ‘progression’ was released by Bill Burr & All Things Comedy. Vulture said the special, “dark comedy at its best” and NY magazine added 'progression' to its approval matrix. The special and album are a follow up to his 2017 comedy album ‘premature’.
Gavin has also made acting appearances on Hulu’s RAMY, Easter Sunday, and multiple short films. He also writes and currently has a film project in development at Columbia Pictures.
