RUHMER Biography

RUHMER was born in a suburb of Linz and began his musical career as a drummer. In his mid-twenties, he found himself working as a sound engineer and video producer on film sets around the world - until his life took a surprising turn in 2019. After nearly a year without a fixed residence, he dedicated himself to his first original musical ideas in a hut in Calais, France. RUHMER's debut single "Kill Me Now" and its accompanying music video, filmed in and around Berlin by Nous Film (ÄTNA, Martin Kohlstedt, Nina Hagen), marked the first sign of his remarkably diverse sound and visual world, in which he has been constantly reinventing himself since.

With "Kill Me Now," RUHMER immediately reached #3 on the Radio FM4 Charts and gained rotations on FM4 and RadioEins Berlin. Additionally, "Kill Me Now" found its place in Spotify playlists like Fresh Finds GSA and Indie Brandneu. His debut concert in Vienna in 2020 sold out within 12 hours and attracted over 200 people. Since then, RUHMER has played 20 more concerts. After releasing three EPs, including the successful singles "To The Wild" and "Calais" (which also achieved significant radio success on FM4 and DLF Kultur), the release of his debut album "Cherryland" is now imminent three years after his first single (scheduled for release on September 22, 2023). With over 1500 Instagram followers, 170,000 Spotify streams, and 110,000 YouTube views, RUHMER is now considered an established, respected, and well-connected artist in the DACH region.
