About this concert
The Ridibund Chamber Music Society live at Eddie’s Attic! Josh Schicker sings with the ensemble on a special song as part of the set. The Ridibund Chamber Music Society began as a pandemic project spawned from the mind of Atlanta Symphony bassist and composer. Terminally bored during lockdown, he conspired to gather professional musicians from his Decatur neighborhood. These brave souls would tread where few classically-trained musicians feel safe: tearing apart music of beloved composers like Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and Satie, and splicing its genes with Nirvana, TLC, and the Allman Brothers. Featuring Kirsten Browning (violin), Mary Horst (cello), Molly O’Roark (harp), Ronnie MacDuff (drums), and Michael Kurth (bass, composer, and arranger).

Josh Schicker Music Biography

JOSH SCHICKER is a singer-songwriter who has been working hard to become one of independent music’s most promising artists. After years of fronting rock bands, this soulful singer has found his true voice as a solo artist with roots in folk and pop styles. Schicker’s music is both soothing and earnest as his strong vocals soar above melodic and unpredictable chord progressions. Schicker has 6 solo albums to his credit, the most recent being "Faith, the Poor & Politics" in 2012. A popular blog interviewed Schicker after its release, "There are really two themes I gravitate toward as a writer: reconciliation and telling the truth. As I observe the world it occurs to me that these two subjects are at the heart of many of humanity's conflicts as well as many victories. In the song, "Small Change", I try to reconcile the fact that there are millions of people who do not have access to clean water while I have unlimited access to it...".
