About this concert
LUKE WRIGHT After a quarter of a century on stages across the world Luke Wright is a poet and raconteur at the top of his game. Both brazen and elegiac, Wright?s poems pull on the tidy hem of responsible existence to unravel the frustrations of the family, politics and masculinity in 21st century Britain. He marries his inventive writing with breath-taking performance skills to take audiences on an incredible emotional journey. He?s the regular tour support for John Cooper Clarke and often MCs shows for The Libertines. He?s a regular on Radio 4 and has won a Fringe First for writing , a Stage Award for performance, and four Saboteur Awards. MARTIN ROWSON Since becoming a full-time professional cartoonist six months after he graduated in 1982, Martin?s work has appeared regularly across the gamut of UK newspapers and magazines, from The Guardian, via Time Out, Morning Star and The Erotic Review, to The Times and Spectator, as well as The Independent on Sunday, Daily Mirror, Daily Express, Index on Censorship, Tribune, The Racing Post, New Humanist, The Modern Review, The Sunday Correspondent, The Irish Times, The European, The New European, Today, Sunday Today, The New Statesman, The Observer and, indeed, almost everywhere you can think of apart from The Sun and Private Eye. WILLIAM WYLD William Wyld is a multi-disciplinary artist who writes and performs poetry of masquerade and disappointment, using sharp observation and surreal imagery to explore love, sex, bereavement, ecocide, parenthood and relationship breakdowns. Expect love poems to spiders, an imaginary phone call with Tilda Swinton, a freind who wants to borrow your skin, and a dead Mother who's face and voice keep returning. William has performed at the Saison Poetry Library, Wilderness festival and Wandsworth Arts Fringe. Their poetry has appeard in Lighthouse, Queer Life Queer Love II, and The Live Canon Sonnet Anthology, and been shortlisted in the Bridport prize and National Poetry Competitions. Their paintings have been exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Show and Discerning Eye. They are a current member of the Southbank Centre New Poets Collective. -- ACESSIBILITY INFO Venue - There is one step up to access the pub, however, there is a ramp available which staff can assist in putting in place when required.
