His records have become softer. But on stage, even alone, damn, what an intense showman! At odds with all the cold bands, he's completely there with the crowd. Which can be bad when an artist is all too human : not crazy enough. But Troy is both crazy and warm, and funny. How does he do this? We don't know.

Troy von Balthazar Biography
Troy Von Balthazar was the lead singer & guitar player of the Los Angeles based band Chokebore. Olympic Disk released his debut solo album in early 2006, and it finds him expanding on the slow, sad landscapes of Chokebore's later works and further justifies his large following in Europe, in particular in France. Von Balthazar has been called "the next Sufjan Stevens."
