Marc Maron Biography
Marc Maron is a stand up comic, writer, cultural critic and, most recently, radio personality with Air America Radio. His comedy is a blend of self-deprecation, acerbic wit, philosophy and socio-political commentary. His ability to both engage his audience as a storyteller and make them feel uncomfortable with what he calls "comedy jazz" has built a selective and loyal fan base.
In addition to appearing in countless clubs and comedy programs, he has been a frequent guest on shows such as Late Night with Conan O'Brien and was a regular guest on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. His one-man show, Jerusalem Syndrome, had an extended off-Broadway run in 2000 and was released in book form in 2001. He appeared in his own specials on HBO and Comedy Central and released two comedy albums, Tickets Still Available and Not Sold Out.
He currently hosts his own show on Progressive Talk AM 1150 in Los Angeles and is performing in venues around the city. Plans to start his own cult are still inconclusive.
