About this concert
Sophie Coran, Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter and composer, has never let heartbreak keep her from speaking her truth. It’s the fuel to the fire behind her self-described noir & sound, and the backing track to her 2021 album, S P A C E. A brutally honest lyricist and classically trained pianist, Coran’s sound gravitates toward the symphonic, with no shortage of textural, disciplined phrases. To listen to a Sophie Coran track is to listen to a pop-infused symphony. Having spent her formative years studying at the Manhattan School of Music followed by time spent traveling through Europe, Coran’s back catalog is a nostalgic, romantic look at the importance of human connection and the beauty of the places that mean the most to her. Whether you’re in love, out of love, or waiting to fall, Coran makes you feel like you’re already there. Praised by NPR Music, Ones to Watch, EARMILK, and more, Coran was named an NPR Slingshot Artist to Watch and is a Shure Songwriting award winner. Her latest releases from i don’t go to new york anymore have earned placements on editorial playlists such as Apple Music’s New in Alternative, Vevo’s Incoming Indie and New Music Friday, and Amazon Music’s The High End. Recently, Coran spent time touring in Philadelphia, Portsmouth, Washington DC, New York City, and Amherst, sharing stages with artists Jade Bird — who handpicked Coran as a tour opener — Margaret Glaspy, Pom Pom Squad, Marian Hill, Lisa Loeb, Giordana Angi and Sting, Stop Light Observations, Bernhoft and Malinda. Buttery bass-driven bumpers topped by a smoothly crooning voice, Zion's songs go down like sweet barrel-aged bourbon. Zion Rodman is a multi-instrumental singer-songwriter known for his soulful voice, intricate guitar playing, and poignant lyrics. With a melodic style that blends folk and rock influences, Zion's performances are heartfelt and captivating. He brings a mix of humor and introspection to the stage, making each show a memorable experience. Zion has been featured on CBS News Boston as the winner of Fenway’s Got Talent, and has won first place at several music competitions and was a finalist in the Great American Song Contest. His most recent EP The Lives I’ve Kept was met with a sold-out release show in 2024 and praise in the Boston Globe: “Boston artist Zion Rodman forges a brief respite from the forthcoming winter gloom with this fireplace-cozy EP.” His next full-length record The Acquisition Of All Things is set to be released in 2025. Fans of Dawes, Pinegrove, Steely Dan, and The Band are often drawn to Zion’s music.
