Ruth Mascelli Biography
Ruth Mascelli is one quarter of the New Orleans no wave/glam/industrial group Special Interest, providing drum machine and electronic textures to their anthemic songs.
As a solo artist, Ruth released a series of home recorded tapes of lof-fi synth punk under the moniker Psychic Hotline on various DIY labels before making his debut under his own name in 2021 with the full length “A Night At The Baths” on the London based Disciples imprint.
His second record for Disciples is a clear progression from the grimy, pulse-racing bathhouse concept of his debut. “Non-Stop Healing Frequency” is a carefully constructed sequence of tender ballads, electronic mood pieces, kosmische disco and industrial symphonies reintroducing Ruth’s own soft vocals into the mix.
