Dubbelconcert van twee reggaegrootheden. De Jamaicaanse rootsreggaeband Culture brak in 1977 door met hun debuutalbum Two Sevens Clash, dat mede dankzij BBC-dj John Peel zelfs Engelse punkrockbands beïnvloedde. Frontman Joseph Hill overleed in 2006, zijn zoon Kenyatta Hill houdt het heilige vuur brandend. Ijahman Levi is ook afkomstig uit Jamaica, maar verhuisde op zijn 17e naar Engeland. Na een korte carrière in de r&b-/soulmuziek werd hij succesvol met rootsreggae – zijn twee bekendste tracks Jah Heavy Load (1976) en Are We A Warrior (1979) zijn inmiddels klassiekers geworden!

Ijahman Levi Biography
Ijahman Levi was born Trevor Sutherland in Jamaica in 1946 and is a reggae musician. His first album, Haile I Hymn, was released on Island Records in 1978. He became Ijahman Levi after a religious conversion to the Rastafari movement in prison where he was between 1972 and 1974. It and the three following records preached Rastafari movement as well as Twelve Tribes of Israel doctrine.
