Red Rum Club Biography
Red Rum Club are an alternative sextet hailing from the shores of Liverpool, England. Since forming, Red Rum Club have enjoyed extensive UK tours and festivals, including a performance at Glastonbury in 2019. The measure of the bands success in the UK can be seen in their April 2024 headline show at the M&S Bank Arena, in their hometown and a 9000 Capacity. The band's distinct sound has been described as "Mariachi Merseybeat".
In March 2022, Red Rum Club ventured across the pond to the USA for the first time to make their SXSW debut, and played their first shows in Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. They have since returned multiple times, including supporting The Wombats on their North American tour in Autumn 2023.
Having in recent years been promoted to all main stages at major UK festivals including with the likes of ‘Kings of Leon’ (Hyde Park 2024), the band also list tour supports with the hottest bands around notably ‘Blossoms’ and ‘Circa Waves’.
'Western Approaches' Red Rum Club's 4th Studio album in 5 years, released February 2024 on independent record label Modern Sky, gave the band their highest UK chart position to date at #8. Additionally, the album has been championed by music legend (Sir) Elton John, interviewing the band on his Rocket Hour show, and music royalty Lulu. The band have drawn inspiration for their music from the sights and sounds of their seaside hometown of Crosby, where all 6 band members grew up and went to school.
