De Antwerpse band Fixkes is uitgegroeid tot een blijvertje in de Belgische muziekscene. Sinds hun doorbraak met ‘kvraagetaan’ dat wekenlang op nummer 1 stond in de hitparade, zijn ze blijven groeien en vernieuwen. Fixkes bleef schrijven en experimenteren, met breekbare teksten, gitaarsolo’s en pop met een vleugje hiphop. Na vier albums trokken ze vorig jaar langs de theaterzalen met de verzoekjestournee ‘Vraag het aan Fixkes!’. Een tour vol verrassingen waarin ze niet alleen verzoekjes speelden, maar ook het publiek de kans gaven om mee het podium op te stappen. Nu is Fixkes terug met een nieuw album: ‘Danny & Danny’. Een verrassende verzameling bewerkingen van eigen en andermans werk, met parels als ‘Nattigheid’, ‘Doosje’, ‘Klungel van de Jungle’ en de songfestivalclassic ‘Jennifer Jennings’.

Fixkes Biography
A Belgian band that blended acoustic pop and hip-hop to -- relatively -- instant success, Fixkes were formed in Antwerp, Belgium, in 2005 by guitarist and vocalist Sam Valkenborgh and his brother, drummer Jan Valkenborgh. Quickly rounding out the membership with fellow players Peter Deckers (guitar and harmonica), Johan Pauwels (bass), and Bart Palmers (piano), Fixkes signed a deal with Dutch Excelsior Recordings in early 2007. Within a month, Fixkes had their debut single on the street. The single, "Kvraagetaan," was a number one hit, and remained there for the next 16 weeks, setting a national record and reached double platinum status. Their self-titled debut album soon followed, managed a respectable top 3 placing, and received Gold status 4 weeks after release. Second Album 'Superheld' was released in 2010, charted for 9 weeks and reached nr 25 in the National charts. After a break (Sam picked up the bass after Johan had left the band and Mike Engels joined them on guitar), Fixkes released their third album "Weeral Halfacht" in 2014. The album reached the 14th position in the National charts.
