Andrew Hypes Biography
Hailing from Waynesboro, Virginia, Andrew Hypes is a DJ, music producer, and drummer who’s been making music for over 15 years. Since a young child, his father Randy has played an integral part in the 80’s babies knowledge of music and continues to support his talents and taste for music.
Andrew would spend his adolescent years watching his father play drums and listening to all genres of music from Hip-Hop to Funk, Rock, Pop, and R&B/Soul. As far as favorite acts go, Hypes puts Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, George Clinton and Prince as his top musical influences.
Andrew has played shows in major cities like New York, Miami, Las Vegas to Los Angeles and has traveled to both London and France producing music for IBM. Hypes has gone viral twice, both in February of 2016 by creating an instrumental from a pair of Philips electric shavers (5,000,000 views on Facebook), and in the Summer of 2017 at a DJ battle at Richmond, VA college, VCU.
After already opening shows for Pharrell Williams, Travis Scott, Diplo, Pusha-T, G-Unit, Daya, Lil Dicky and producing music for Grammy award-winning artist Lecrae, Evan Barlow, French Montana, and Mad Skillz, Andrew Hypes continues to push the envelope with his jack-of-all-trades approach to music, building his fan base and viewership in clubs and on social media.
