About this concert
FITZGERALDS Outdoors Presents:DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS & DEER TICK w/ special guest Thelma & The SleazeFITZGERALDS OUTDOORS is the name we give large outdoor concerts with a festival style setup: a large stage with a state of the art sound system, lights, and tenting to protect from any inclement weather will make for an incredible outdoor show at our historic old nightlcub!Since their inception in 1996, Drive-By Truckers have carved out a unique niche in the music scene with their raw, unflinching storytelling, heavy-hitting guitar riffs, and blend of Alternative and Southern rock. Founded by Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley, Drive-By Truckers have released 14 studio albums and played more than 2,500 shows in the last three decades. Notable members include long-time drummer Brad Morgan and current members Jay Gonzalez and Matt Patton, who have helped define the bands evolving sound. The bands work has often reflected the state of American society, particularly through their celebrated trilogy of albums: American Band (ATO, 2016), The Unraveling (ATO, 2020), and The New OK (ATO, 2020). This series marked a bold foray into politically charged and topical songwriting, earning acclaim for its insightful commentary and fearless expression.Emotional Contracts, the latest full-length album from Deer Tick, catalogs all the existential casualties that accompany the passing of time, instilling each song with the irresistibly reckless spirit thats defined the band for nearly two decades. Before heading into the studio with producer Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, Spoon, Sleater-Kinney), the Providence-bred four-piece spent months working on demos in a perpetually flooded warehouse space in their hometown, enduring the busted heating system and massive holes in the roof as they carved out the albums 10 raggedly eloquent tracks. Emotional Contracts fully echoes the unruly energy of its creation, ultimately making for a heavy-hearted yet wildly life-affirming portrait of growing older without losing heart.Enjoy BABYGOLD BARBECUE before during and after the show by booking a table in the dining room, OR visiting the fast casual BBQ set up in the back corner of the patio!

Really good show! The openers were also entertaining. I’d never seen Thelma and the Sleaze before; the kicked ass big time. It was my second time seeing Deer Tick and they were really dialed in, and really turned it on as the set progressed. The Warren Zevon cover (Play It All Night Long) was a treat. Drive-By Truckers put on a spirited show that (unfortunately) was just shy of 2 hours because Marymoor has a local noise curfew of 10pm. Still a very enjoyable evening.

Drive-By Truckers Biography

Welcome 2 Club XIII, DBT’s 14th studio album, marks a sharp departure from the trenchant political commentary of their last three records.

A reckoning with the dualities of the things that make you alive and how they sometimes can kill you. A life affirming flashlight for the dark nights of one’s soul.

With guest appearances including Margo Price, Mike Mills and Schaefer Lllana.

The first single (and title track) is a tongue in cheek homage to a local dive that founding members Cooley and Hood played in their early days.

Disco lights and industrial carpet, they would occasionally play to a near empty room or open for a hair metal cover band.

As they say in the song “Our glory days did kinda suck”.

Welcome 2 Club XIII out on June 3, 2022
