Pegasuses Biography
Pegasuses are husband and wife duo Dave Miatt and Laura Lamb. They sing songs about the serious and the silly and like to make you confused about whether you should be laughing or crying.
Based in Southampton, UK, they've been working with producer Russell Marsden (Band of Skulls/Alberta Cross) at Snook Studio on their debut album, Sea of Joy. Set for release later this year, the album promises to showcase their eclectic blend of sweet harmonies and darkly comic lyrics.
“I’ve been a devotee of Dave since his Thomas Tantrum days, and now with Lamb’s stunning vocals in the mix, I’ve really loved producing this record.” — Russell Marsden
Sea of Joy marks an expansion of their sound as a duo; fans of their acoustic performances can expect their trademark dual harmonies against a richer backdrop of instrumentation, including pedal steel guitar, synth and percussion.
“Lovely and gently disturbing...well suited to a gig in a cemetery.” — Stu Ffoulkes, (NYTMG)
Pegasuses have been named as 2024 Turn it Up Associates, a development opportunity for musicians, supported by Arts Council England and led by Turner Sims in association with Soco Music Project. This project will see them perform with a full band for the first time at Turner Sims Concert Hall on June 28th, and will be a chance for audiences to hear the songs from Sea of Joy with full instrumentation.
"Their passion and readiness to take the next step in their music really stood out. When they performed for us, we knew we'd found our first Turn it Up artists." — Kevin Appleby, Turner Sims
