About this concert
Sari Schorr honed her craft in the vibrant music scene of New York City, where the city's diverse, gritty, and authentic sounds deeply influenced her unique blend of blues, rock, and soul. It was here, that Sari's powerful, 5-octave voice began to take shape.
Sari's talent quickly caught the attention of influential figures in the music industry. Critics praised her electrifying performances and described her as having one of the greatest voices of the 21st century.
Sari's big break came when she began touring with legendary guitarist Joe Louis Walker. This exposure catapulted her into the spotlight, earning her an induction into the New York Blues Hall of Fame in 2015, a testament to her impact on the genre. In Memphis that same year, a chance meeting with iconic record producer Mike Vernon, known for his work with John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, and Eric Clapton, took Sari's career to the next level. Within minutes of hearing her sing, Vernon offered to produce her debut album, "A Force of Nature." The album quickly established Sari as a rising star of blues rock, drawing comparisons to legends like Janis Joplin and Tina Turner.
Sari's rise to fame is not just due to her vocal prowess but also her exceptional songwriting skills. Her lyrics often address global and societal issues, speaking on behalf of the people and standing tall as a voice for the silenced. Every line in her music carries weight, reflecting her beliefs about the role of artists in the modern world.
Recently, Sari teamed up with legendary guitarist Robin Trower to create the critically acclaimed album "Joyful Sky," which soared to #1 on the Billboard Blues chart. Trower, impressed by Sari?s rich voice, was inspired to rebuild his songcraft around her. Their collaboration pushed both artists creatively, with Trower adapting his style to complement Sari?s vocal strengths.
Her collaborations extend to sharing the stage with notable artists such as Walter Trout, Kiefer Sutherland, The Sweet, and Bernard Purdy. Sari's belief in positive collaborations is evident in her long-standing recording partnership with Henning Gehrke, with whom she is working on her third studio album, set for release in early 2025.
Beyond her musical achievements, Sari is deeply committed to humanitarian causes. She has devoted her talent and energy to grand-scale music projects for social responsibility, most notably collaborating on "Toast to Freedom" for Amnesty International. This project saw her working alongside musical legends like Jimmy Barnes, Christine & The Queens, Florent Pagny and Warren Haynes. Sari's humanitarian efforts have taken her to Haiti and India, and she founded Matters, a non-profit organization that draws attention to humanitarian cause through the arts.
Sari Schorr continues to inspire and captivate audiences worldwide, embodying the belief that music can heal and unite the world. Her journey from the streets of New York to international stages, her impactful collaborations, and her unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes make her a truly dynamic force in blues rock.
