Performing and song-writing have always been a part of me ever since I was very young. Not only is it my career now, it remains my hobby and passion but also like a form of therapy for me. It is a real privilege to help people find their voices through my vocal coaching. 

At 15 years old, I started performing in public with ‘The Hourglass’, an acoustic soul pop duo showcasing our originals and covers. We were popular on the Portsmouth music scene and won local talent shows. Over ten years, guitarist Matt Cobb and I wrote in excess of 100 songs that remain dear to me. This music featured heavily in my dissertation at university. We disbanded in 2016 so that Matt could focus on his family.

I created my own vocal harmony trio called ‘Timeless’ covering music through the eras and have run this as a full time business since 2014. I love being a part of this group because I work with two of my best friends and because we cover such a wide range of music, it keeps every gig different and exciting. With Timeless I have performed at weddings, corporate events, festivals, on cruise ships and on television. Being part of this group allows me to make a living doing something I’m good at!

With the burning desire to keep song-writing, I joined forces with musician and writer, Donna Peters and Lindsey Bonnick, another top-line writer, in 2017 and found the missing piece I’d been craving for. We then developed into a full band called ‘Brave Rival.’ We are a band to watch on the blues scene and are classed as one of the breakthrough acts of 2020. Fusing blues, rock and soul, we have a gritty, energetic sound and I love becoming a rock chick within this band.

I also began collaborating with Dominic Elton in 2017, purely for a creative outlet as it was a pivotal point in my personal life. After releasing my first single in June 2017 on Mayfield Records, I have since released 4 more tracks taking influence from Northern soul and jazz. These songs were featuring Mayfield Records House Band and co-written with Dominic Elton. My track 'How Many Souls' was played on BBC Radio 2 by Janice Long in 2018 and my jazz track 'Once More' received excellent reviews alongside this. ‘Soul Sister’, released in January 2019, was played on Craig Charles soul show on Radio 2 which was a great moment for me. My last single co-written with Dominic Elton was aptly named 'Spring Time' and draws from blue eyed soul and Northern soul influences. I also wrote tracks for other Mayfield artists including Gloria Miller and Marlene Hill.

Getting a taste of writing and recording soul through Mayfield Records House Band, I decided I wanted to make my own soul records with my own team of writers and my very own soul band. Soul music is what makes my heart sing. I started writing soul/funk tunes with Donna Peters and my partner Jon Parkins. In spring 2019 we ended up writing a full album in the space of 2 months and have since recorded half of them, released on Mayfield Records as singles, and have put together our own 10-piece band. Our first gig saw us supporting the legendary Geno Washington in November 2019 with excellent reviews.
